We’ve won two awards!

Friends of Ancells Farm are proud to be the first ever recipients of Fleet and Church Crookham in Bloom & Fleet Town Council’s Chairman’s Cup. This award was in the category of ‘Parks’ which was a new category set up this year. You can see our certificate here.

The RHS It’s Your Neighbourhood campaign supports local community groups in cleaning up and greening up their immediate local environment – whether that’s the street they live in, or a small patch of communal land needing a revamp.

Friends of Ancells Farm have taken part in this campaign in 2011, when we planted our trees and 2012, when we planted our wild flower seeds. Despite having only just set the group up in 2011, we managed to achieve Level 2 – Improving, which was a fantastic achievement. This year we have managed to top this, with Level 3 – Developing.

We had to undergo an interview in the park for both awards and the various  judges took into account aspects such as community participation and gardening achievement. You can see our certificate for It’s Your Neighbourhood here and our scoring here.

We are absolutely thrilled by these achievements and would like to thank everyone who has taken part in our events and supported us by joining the group. We could not have participated in either of these awards without your support. Please keep your ideas and support coming – we really appreciate it.
