Easter Egg Hunts
Friends of Ancells Farm has held Easter Egg Hunts since 2013 and each one has been great fun! The event is held in the Falkners Arms and makes good use of all the green spaces in and around the park.
It has been so lovely to help co-ordinate an event in which a lot of the community come out to support and where all members of the family, young or old can join in and have fun.
Children are given a picture clue style treasure hunt to go and find hidden letters at the various locations to spell out an Easter related to phrase. The Falkners Arms and our local Tesco Express have generously provided the Easter eggs which are given out on the return of completed sheets. In fact more than 100 children take part, sometimes with a last minute dash to Tesco Express to buy more egg prizes!
The day also includes other events to keep our youngsters engaged, such as a colouring competition, an Easter Bonnet Parade, Planting of Sunflower seeds, Biscuit decorating, temporary tattoos, face painting, egg lucky dip, and a lucky lollipop dip. We also have a raffle with prizes generously donated from the local community.
The Falkners sell an abundance of bacon and sausage rolls in the morning with a steady lunch and drink trade well into the afternoon.
Friends of Ancells Farm usually make around £250 and a record of £422 in 2017. All proceeds go directly to Friends of Ancells Farm projects.
A big thank you is due to the Falkners Arms and Tesco Express for their regular and continued support.
