An Eggstravaganza at Ancells Farm!

On a sunny Easter Monday, Friends of Ancells Farm in conjunction with The Falkners Arms held their second Easter Event.

Treasurer Natasha Barker said it was so lovely to help co-ordinate an event in which a lot of the community came out to support.  Children were given a picture clue style treasure hunt to go and find hidden letters at the various locations to spell out an Easter related to phrase.  The Falkners Arms generously bought 100 large Easter eggs to be given out on the return of completed sheets.  In fact more than 100 children took part with a last minute dash to Tesco Express to buy more eggs.

The day also included a colouring competition, an Easter Bonnet Parade, Planting of Sunflower seeds, Biscuit decorating, tattoos, egg lucky dip, and a lucky lollipop dip.  We also had a raffle with generous prizes donated from the local community.

Both organisations enjoyed a healthy profit, with the Falkners selling an abundance of bacon and sausage rolls in the morning with a steady lunch and drink trade well into the afternoon.  Friends of Ancells Farm made a total of £236.09, through the renewal of membership subs, new member subs, the activities and the raffle.
